Exmoor National Park Authority meetings are held up to 12 times each year, usually on the first Tuesday of each month (with the first Tuesday of January and August being reserve dates when a meeting may not take place).
As sole local planning authority for the area of the National Park, planning applications that are not delegated to Planning Officers under the Authority's Scheme of Delegation are determined at Exmoor National Park Authority meetings. These meetings will also consider other development management matters including preparation of local plans and the duty to co-operate, neighbourhood planning, responding to consultations on national policy and changes to the legislative framework of the planning system.
Business relating to finance, personnel, performance management and land and property matters will also be considered and determined at Exmoor National Park Authority meetings

The Standards Committee comprises five Members of the Authority and its general functions are to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by Members and Officers; and to consider and determine any complaints against Members under the Authority's Code of Conduct.
The Partnership Fund Committee is allocated by the Authority a budget each financial year. The Committee considers bids for funding for Authority projects alongside proposals from communities, external groups, businesses or individuals, the focus of which must be to further the achievement of National Park purposes with a weighting to projects that also provide community and economic benefits.
The Exmoor Consultative and Parish Forum meets 5 times a year and provides a forum for consultation and discussion of matters of principle affecting the National Park and is an opportunity to promote better understanding between the National Park Authority, local communities and other bodies with an interest in the National Park. The Forum meetings at different venues across the National Park and members of the public are welcome to attend.
The Exmoor Local Access Forum is an independent statutory advisory body set up by Exmoor National Park Authority in 2002 under the provisions of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. The Forum meets twice a year at different venues across the National Park and members of the public are welcome to attend.
Before March 2015, the Authority conducted some of its main business through meetings of separate committees, ie a Planning Committee considered and determined planning applications and a Resources and Performance Committee considered matters relating to finance, personnel, performance management, land and property.
