Spaces are filling up for the Dartmoor & Exmoor Low Carbon Festival events early next month. The events are an ideal way for people to learn more about wood fuel and hydro power systems from the experts that install them and those that use them.


Hydropower in action – 2nd October – Broford Farm near Dulverton
Exmoor has many sites which are potentially suitable for hydropower schemes. This seminar includes a guided tour around a recently installed system and presentations from experts who will provide an excellent summary of what is involved in installing a hydropower system. Speakers include an experienced hydro engineer and a representative from the Environment Agency. The cost of the seminar, which runs from 10.30am till 2pm, is £10 and this includes tea and coffee and light buffet lunch. 
Introduction to wood fuel – 3rd October – The Exmoor Forest Inn, Simonsbath
Come along and learn all about wood fuel heating from experts based in the area. You could obtain a very good return on investment by installing a wood heating system and this event will tell you everything you need to know as well as showcasing a wood chip system installed on site. The event costs £10 with a light buffet lunch included and runs from 10.30am to 2pm.
Electric Bike taster event – 3rd October - The Exmoor Forest Inn, Simonsbath
These fun electric cycles are available to try at The Exmoor Forest Inn from 10 to 2pm. An excellent way to see the rolling Exmoor landscape they will be available to try out around the Inn or why not pop a little further a field and see how they fare on the local hills!
Community Energy Workshop – 5th October
Those community members or businesses interested in developing a renewable energy project and/or those interested in obtaining a very good return on investment from renewable energy should come along to Winsford Village Hall on the 5th October from 10am to 2pm. Local community groups who have developed and generated finance for renewable energy projects will be attending to help along keen aspirants and provide information for budding investors. The workshop is free and a buffet lunch will be provided.
