A meeting of the Exmoor Consultative Forum will be held in the Committee Room, Exmoor House, Dulverton, Friday 8 November 2002 at 10.30 am (A buffet will be provided).

- To agree the Notes of the last meeting, held on 19 June 2002 (Minutes (PDF, 126kb))
- Matters Arising from the Notes
- Membership: To note that the Lyn Association of Commerce and Tourism has decided to discontinue its membership of the Consultative Forum. The Association feels that its interests are best served through its membership of the Exmoor Area Tourism Advisory Group.
- Items raised by Members
- Rural Enterprise: Edwin Beckett, Exmoor Trust, has asked for discussion on how rural enterprise can be developed and encouraged in the National Park, particularly how planning can facilitate it.
- Wimbleball Lake: Michael Scott, Member with Special Knowledge, has asked for consideration of future development proposals at Wimbleball Lake. James Platts from South West Lakes Trust will give an outline of what is intended, and there will be a fuller explanation at the Forum’s meeting in June 2003.
- House Price Surveys on Exmoor etc: Tim Davey, Exmoor Society, has submitted detailed questions on this topic for the Forum to consider (see copy of Mr Davey’s letter attached as Paper A1 (PDF, 139kb), and copy of the Authority’s response attached as Paper A2 (PDF, 73kb)).
- Sustainable Development Fund: Chris France, Head of Planning and Community, will talk about this Fund, the Authority’s role and the potential benefits for the National Park.
- Visitor Payback: Martin Evans, Head of Recreation and Tourism, to provide details of the re-launch of a Visitor Payback scheme on Exmoor.
- Integrated Quality Management (IQM) Project (Countryside Agency funded tourism project): Anne Clayton, Project Manager, will outline the project and her role.
- Implementing Electronic Government (IEG): There will be a demonstration to show the types of information on the Authority’s website and an indication given of that to be added. This will be followed by a workshop session to seek the views of Forum members on what other additional information could be included.
- Motorised Sport and Recreation on Exmoor – Code of Conduct and Event Guidelines:
The Authority is currently consulting on the Code of Conduct and Event Guidelines (copy attached as Paper B (PDF, 148kb)). Paul Hawkins, Recreation Management Officer, will outline the main proposals in the document and Forum members will be invited to give their views. - 50th Anniversary Celebrations: The National Park celebrates its 50th Anniversary in 2004. Nigel Stone, the National Park Officer, will invite Forum members to indicate how they might celebrate it and also to offer any suggestions.
- Any Other Business
- Date of Next Meeting: The date set for the next meeting is Friday 13 June 2003 at 7.00 pm. However, the Forum may wish to hold the meeting on a different weekday evening, as a number of members are likely to have weekend commitments.
