Apprenticeships for Young Farmers
Exmoor Moorland Landscape Partnership is running a new project for 2011 with farmers who wish to be ‘Moorland Tutors’ and uniquely, in Exmoor National Park, we also have funds to help to pay the wages of 3 Exmoor Moorland Apprentices.
The level 3 apprenticeships are run by West Somerset Community College at Minehead, which has a modern farm facility at College Farm, Minehead. The course combines 4 days per week on the farm and 1 day per week at college. Host farms would employ and train their student during the apprenticeship period of 22 months.
All enquiries welcome. Young people interested in being an apprentice should contact Charlie Olive at West Somerset Community College on 01643 706061.
If you would like to help to train an Exmoor Moorland Apprentice, or to help us to run moorland farming workshops , please contact us for an informal chat.
