Anaerobic Digestion - low tech, low cost solutions

Anaerobic Digestion (AD) technology offers the potential for farmers to produce a biogas that can be used for generating heat and electricity using feed stocks found on the farm such as slurry and silage. However, ‘high tech’ AD technology has high capital costs making it unattractive to many farmers.Exmoor National Park Authority has therefore teamed up with Cornwall Agri-food Council to fund research into the potential of low cost, ‘low tech’ AD which may represent a more financially attractive proposition.
