Birds, bogs and barrows: A walk at Hangley Cleave

P1000222.JPG

Date: 16th Feb 2019 2:00pm-6:00pm
Join the Exmoor Mires Partnership Team on a walk across areas of restored blanket bog to learn about the work taking place on Exmoor’s peatlands, while looking out for a range of bird species associated with the mires, potentially including snipe, short-eared owl, kestrel, golden plover, and perhaps even hen harrier if we’re lucky! We’ll also look at the rich archaeological landscape of the high moor, with a range of features spanning the breadth of pre-history to later attempts at mining and agricultural reclamation.
