A visit to Codsend Moor – a fascinating area on the southwest flank of Dunkery Beacon. Guided by Conrad Barrowclough and Dr Martin Gillard – Exmoor Mires Partnership Project Officer and Historic Environment Officer. Codsend Moor is a landscape of historic farming and settlement dating from prehistory to the present day alongside rich mire and moorland vegetation. It has been the subject of mire restoration and ongoing archaeological research. Conrad and Martin have experience of studying and working on Exmoor stretching back over many years. It will involve about 4km/2½miles of medium difficulty walking; come with suitable footwear, clothing and refreshment.
