Path Closures

Updates about ongoing projects and information about paths which are temporarily closed can be found by clicking on the links below.

Temporary Path Closures

Wester Way or Cliff Railway Path (Public Footpath 26, Lynton & Lynmouth & South West Coast Path)
Please take note Public Footpath 26 will be closed for 21 days (until 12th February 2018) due to public safety concerns due to a wall collapse.

Longer Term Path Closures

Sillery Sands, Lynton & Lynmouth (Public Footpath LYN 24)
Closure until 16th July 2018.

Permanent Path Closures

Auntie's Path (near Watersmeet) Unfortunately, severe undermining by a landslip has made it necessary to close indefinitely the permitted path.

Porlock Shingle Ridge is impassable due to the breach. Do not attempt to cross, even at low water. Follow local signs from Bossington to Porlock Weir.

Culbone Stone permitted access has been closed at the request of the landowner.  Group visits can be arranged by emailing the Ranger Service.  More information about Exmoor's archaeology and historic buildings can be found on the historic environment pages.
