Adder
Although, the adder Vipera berus is the UK's only venomous snake, nobody has died of an adder bite in the UK for over 20 years. They are shy animals that will quickly disapear when they sense someone approaching.  On Exmoor they are most likely to be seen warming up in the morning  sun in sheltered spots in moorland or near the coast.
