Brompton Regis
Brompton Regis is a large parish on the Brendon Hills mostly within the Somerset part of the National Park. It contains the village of Brompton Rgeis and several hamlets including Bury Hartford, Gupworthy and the former parish of Withiel Florey.

Meaning of place name: the parish is called Brompton Regis or King's Brompton. The manor belonged to the king in Domesday times, when it was called Brunetone. The name may, however, derive from a visit by King Stephen. Brompton may mean town near broom.
