Martinhoe
Martinhoe is a sparsely populated parish within the Devon part of the National Park. Its village consists of a church, hotel, farm and five cottages.

Meaning of place name: a hoe is high ground overlooking the sea. Although the church is dedicated to St Martin and the parish once belonged to the Martin family, the name is thought to come from a Saxon called Matta.
