Exmoor National Park Local List of Validation Requirements For Planning Applications

Exmoor National Park Authority is consulting on the latest changes to the planning application process which will be introduced from 6th April 2008.  These changes consist of:

• A standard planning application form - 1APP
• Specific national validation requirements
• A local list of validation requirements drawn up by individual planning authorities - these will not be introduced until the consultation process has been carried out and the Local List formally adopted by the Authority.

A wide range of interested parties and users of the Planning System have been notified of this consultation document, and it is available online to enable further representations to be made, and allow responses to be made electronically.

The consultation document sets out the proposed local list validation requirements for all types of planning applications made to the Authority from a list of topics that the Government provided in Guidance published in December 2007.  The local list is tailored to the particular circumstances of each particular type of application, and will help to ensure that all the necessary information to determine an application is provided.  Many of the recommended requirements are already provided by applicants and agents such as, planning statements and flood risk assessments.
