Community Projects
Exmoor Sustainable Development Fund
The Exmoor Sustainable Development Fund is available to any individuals, groups or businesses with ideas for projects that will benefit the Exmoor National Park area. These ideas should show new, innovative ways of living and working across Exmoor and preferably involve young people.
Rural Housing Project:
The Rural Housing Project has been operating since April 2002 and aims to increase the provision of affordable housing for local needs, where it is needed, in the rural communities across the project area of Exmoor, North Devon and West Somerset. Organisations across the project area have got together to support the appointment of the Rural Housing Enabler, Colin Savage, to promote and facilitate the development of affordable rural housing. The project has been funded by a partnership of joint funding organisations between Devon and Somerset County Councils through Local Area Agreements, North Devon District Council and West Somerset Strategic Partnership, Exmoor National Park Authority, , and four Registered Social Landlords (also referred to as Housing Associations), namely; North Devon Homes Limited, Magna West Somerset, Falcon Rural Housing and Hastoe.

Dunster Action Plan
The Dunster Working Group, which is co-ordinated by the Exmoor National Park Authority and includes Dunster Parish Council and local organisations has now published a draft Plan for the village and is asking the public for its comments. The Dunster Action Plan sets out proposals for conserving the historic character, making it more attractive to visitors, under-pinning the viability of shops and other businesses and improving conditions for local residents.
QUEST:
The QUEST initiative is a five year national demonstration pilot project for sustainable tourism funded by the Countryside Agency and hosted by Exmoor National Park Authority. QUEST stands for ‘Quality Underpins Exmoor’s Sustainable Tourism’ and is about working together to enhance the greater Exmoor area as a quality rural tourism destination. One which exceeds our visitors’ expectations, maintains a vibrant and sustainable tourism industry, and brings benefits to the environment and local communities.
Caremoor
Exmoor National Park Authority is working with Exmoor businesses, residents and visitors to generate funds through its environmental support fund (ESF), CareMoor for Exmoor.
