HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF
EXMOOR’S ECONOMY
In order to try to maximise the money coming in, and minimising the amount of money that ‘leaks’ from the local economy, Exmoor National Park Authority is commissioning work to get ideas from local businesses and individuals about how they can increase the range of Exmoor products and services they buy.
Whether it is a loaf of bread, catering for a large shoot or finding a sailing instructor – could it be sourced on Exmoor? If not, would some assistance with training or a few contacts help the situation?
Dr. Nigel Stone, chief executive of Exmoor National Park Authority, said: “If you have ideas on ways to increase the wellbeing, prosperity and livelihoods of the inhabitants of Exmoor whilst conserving its unique landscape and culture, then we want to have your comments.”
Anyone who has thoughts they would like to share on:-
How money can be kept flowing in the local area –rather than leaking to other counties or countries
How the farming, forestry, food, drink, outdoor pursuit, wildlife, country sport and adventure tourism industries can become more locally self sufficient
How more resources can be attracted into the area, and
How we can inspire young people to fulfil their potential AND stay in the area
