HELP THE FUTURE OF EXMOOR
Exmoor National Park Authority is seeking individuals to join the Independent Advisory Panel for the Exmoor Sustainable Development Fund.
Phil Cookson, the Authority’s Sustainable Development Officer, says: "We are seeking people who can think laterally and promote different ways of doing things. The Advisory Panel needs folk who embrace a range of interests across our communities (including youth, elderly and disabled), businesses (including tourism, farming/forestry and arts & crafts) and environment (natural, built and cultural). Involvement with and experience of local and regional groups will also be useful."
The Exmoor Sustainable Development Fund provides grants to organisations, individuals, community groups and businesses who wish to explore and develop practical projects which enhance and conserve the environment, economy and way of life in the National Park. It also aims to develop and test new ways of achieving a more sustainable way of living in this area of great beauty and diversity.
Descriptions of the 75 projects offered grant aid can be viewed on the Sustainable Development pages at www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk
The Panel meets 4-6 times every year. Expenses will be paid to Panel members who must also declare their interests.
Anyone interested in joining the Panel, should contact Phil Cookson, Sustainable Development Officer, Exmoor NPA on 01398 322235 or pncookson@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk. The closing date for applications is Monday 6th March 2006.
