Catering for CareMoor
A lucky 49 people enjoyed an Exmoor Tapas lunch recently when Peta Hodge and Paul Rainford, owners of Exmoor House Hotel in Wheddon Cross, served Exmoor Tapas during the Exmoor Food Festival and at the same time raised funds for CareMoor for Exmoor.
One pound from each meal sold during the 3 day tapas event was donated to the scheme, plus a further £34 from the tips in the collection box giving a grand total of £83. The meal offered diners two courses of samples of deliciously homemade food. Everything was produced with local ingredients such as Exe trout tart, homemade chutney, local cheeses, Exmoor elderflower ice-cream, cider and apple cake as well as a selection of local beverages.
CareMoor for Exmoor co-ordinator Sally Parish said "The money raised by Peta and Paul will be spent on projects under the headings of Conservation, Archaeology, Rights of way and Enjoyment. We are only two months into our second year and have already raised over £2,600 thanks to the support from local businesses like Exmoor House."
