Why should I/my organisation get involved?
Exmoor is a special place and its unique ad special qualities form the bed rock to many local businesses, events and organisations. CareMoor for Exmoor allows you to ‘invest in your assets’. In addition:

  • By contributing to CareMoor for Exmoor visitors, residents and businesses can relate personally to local conservation needs
  • Getting involved is an ideal opportunity to raise awareness of the Exmoor’s special qualities and promote environmental good practice
  • CareMoor for Exmoor is a chance for participating businesses to feel that they are doing something practical to help the environment
  • Participation in schemes helps to create positive experiences, images and memories of Exmoor, its people and its business community
  • Regular press releases and promotional material relating to CareMoor will be issued and will feature those businesses that make a substantial contribution. All participating business will be listed on this website.

How can I help to raise funds?
You can raise funds for Exmoor in whole number of ways – and we welcome any innovative ideas! We will help you determine which method works best for you – and which is easiest for you to integrate into your business. The following are some of the most popular ways of raising funds and donating via your business, event or organisation:

Donations You can make a one off donation
Sponsorship If your business would like to sponsor CareMoor for Exmoor please contact us on 01398 323665 or emailing Caremoor@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk.
Supplement The opt-out method of supplement involves businesses including an amount in the price or total bill. E.g. 5p per ice-cream sold or 1% of an accommodation or restaurant bill goes to CareMoor for Exmoor. If customers do not wish to pay this amount they may ‘opt-out’. The opt-in method is where customers are asked if they wish to include an amount on to the existing bill total towards CareMoor for Exmoor.
Participation It is hoped that members of the public will be able to contribute to certain projects through hands-on participation. The Exmoor Conservation Volunteers will also be involved in many projects.
Proceeds Some businesses may find it easier to organise a special event and donate the proceeds to CareMoor for Exmoor.

Collection Collection tins rely on customers to read some sort of poster or literature to know what the scheme is all about. This method is the easiest in terms of administration for businesses, but does not tend to raise substantial amounts.
Hiring By asking for a small donation or hiring charge in exchange for the loan of an item of equipment or literature provides the opportunity for the business staff to explain what CareMoor for Exmoor is about and also for the customer to appreciate Exmoor in a new light armed with the knowledge they are contributing to its protection.
