Camping, caravans and campervans are welcome on Exmoor, the Brendons and the Quantock Hills but only in recognised camping sites. Fires are not allowed anywhere other than on recognised campsites and even then only when permitted, as uncontrolled fires are easily started and seriously damage habitats, wildlife, property and people in a very short time. Summer is the time of year when the countryside is particularly vulnerable to this kind of risk. Please respect the wishes of the farmers and foresters during these high-risk periods and follow any instructions issued by the owner of your site regarding access, hygiene and fire.
