Pinkery Outdoor Education Centre

Helping people enjoy Exmoor through increased understanding

Pinkery offers a residential experience that enhances understanding and enjoyment of Exmoor’s special qualities . Pinkery is Exmoor National Park Authority’s centre for Outdoor Education. It has been in operation since 1969 and offers a warm welcome and introduction to Exmoor National Park for all our visiting groups.

We are sure that Exmoor can offer opportunities for achieving a wide range of objectives, and that Pinkery is the ideal base through which to realise those aims. Please do not hesitate to contact the Centre to discuss how Exmoor National Park Authority’s Education Service can best meet the needs of your establishment or group.

Pinkery can provide accredited training courses in a number of Outdoor activities as well as offering special interest courses throughout the year.  Please contact us for further information.

We are also able to provide camping facilities for Duke of Edinburgh Groups.  All camping groups have access to toilets and a standing tap but not inside Pinkery itself.  A map and information can be found below.Pinkery can accommodate groups of up to 36 students and 8 staff on a self-catered or fully catered basis.

We hope that our visitors grow in three areas:

  • a greater self-confidence and self-awareness from trying and succeeding in new activities
  • greater awareness of others from living and working together
  • greater awareness of the natural environment from experiencing the outdoors

The first steps towards a positive attitude to the environment come from enjoying, wondering at, and beginning to understand it
