Please note -  if you are looking to book Pinkery for a residential for your school or college then please see this page.

Pinkery is in an idyllic setting in Exmoor National Park surrounded by open moorland, where you can be inspired by the landscape around you.  A former upland farm in the heart of what was the Royal Hunting Forest of Exmoor, Pinkery is now a 9-bedroomed residential centre that is perfect as a base for exploring, conferences, family gathering or for an organised group stay.

Pinkery is so remote that it is "off-grid" and has its own wind turbine and solar panels (backed up with a generator) and the heating is run off a Biomass Boiler, so you really do get a sense of getting away from it all. We are using only carbon neutral, renewable technology where we can, to maintain and run the centre so it is perfect for groups conscious of their environmental impact and for eco-friendly, sustainable weekend escapes, family gatherings or as a conference venue.

Coming to Pinkery is all about the outdoors.  Use the building as a base but get out there and enjoy Exmoor. This is about stepping out the door and feeling that immediate boost to your health and wellbeing.  No crowds, probably no other people, just space, fresh air and inspiring landscapes. With flexible accommodation and a wide range of facilities, a stay in Pinkery is an experience not to be forgotten. A short walk will take you up past the famous Pinkery Pond up onto the open moor with its Bronze Age barrows, wild red deer and wide-open spaces.

You have the building to yourselves and no neighbours, but we will be at the end of the phone if you need us.

Pinkery is an ideal place for larger families or multiple families to stay -  As well as groups of friends looking to find a unique base to Explore Exmoor. The accomodation is flexible  and provides great value for large groups.

This extended former farmhouse located at the headwaters of the River Barle offers a unique opportunity to stay at the heart of Exmoor National Park's beautiful moorland landscape.

With its flexible accommodation, you can sleep 32 in dormitories of 4 each with its own ensuite facilities. Groups have the use of a well equipped self catering kitchen and dining room able to seat the whole group, with tables arranged to suit the group's requirements. Upstairs there is a further social room which doubles as a classroom, meeting area or conference venue when required.

Set in stunning open moorland, Pinkery is ideal for activity groups and those wanting to immerse themselves in the great outdoors. Always offered with exclusive use, we welcome groups to explore Exmoor and are happy to offer additional packages such as guided walks

Pinkery is an ideal spot for a day or residential conference, with its remote location and instant access to the remote parts of Exmoor. We can offer a designated meeting space in our classroom with a large screen and Wi-Fi facilities to connect remote colleagues. Subject to availability our catering team can support a fully catered stay or simply provide refreshments.

We can sleep up to 36 people in 9 ensuite bedrooms, however we can cater from groups as small as 9 for a residential conference making each room sole occupancy.

Team building activities may be available using one of our Education Team or Ranger Team, and guided walks can be arranged.

Rates are calculated individually for each group’s specific requirements and subject to availability; but a basic day package of the classroom, dining room and tea and coffee can start in the off season from as low as £150.

Our building supports space for breakout groups and there can easily be a delineation between work and relaxation spaces with a separate lounge area.

Our staff are friendly and can be onsite during the day to support your conference and facilitate your requirements.

For overnight stays you can enjoy being in one of only two residential buildings in the core of Europe’s First Dark sky reserve and access to a telescope is available on request.

“Such a fun place to stay. Everything is well thought out and nicely furnished. Lots of interesting stuff to see and do. Hosts were responsive and friendly. Would love to return at some point” Tim, January 2023

“Pinkery is amazing. A beautiful centre, in the heart of Exmoor. We stayed with 19 people, plenty of space, perfect facilities for cooking etc. Ideal for getting into nature and exploring the local scenery. We were greeted on arrival and given a tour and lots of tips for local places to explore. Very comfortable beds, warm showers and the place was very clean! 10/10 would highly recommend anyone to stay” Stephen, November 2022

“This house is in an amazing spot, in a very secluded area of Exmoor. The place has its own valley to explore which is great. The accommodation is basic but has everything you need for an amazing stay. You are off grid which is really cool and if you get lucky with the weather you will catch some amazing stars at night. Would thoroughly recommend” Will, September 2022
