Bus Travel
Much of Exmoor is served by a network of buses. Providing it is safe to do so you can flag a bus down anywhere on the moor, and dogs can often be carried for a small additional charge. Moor Rover
A flexible transport service for walkers and cyclists as well as dogs and luggage!
Operating 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm all-year round this is a demand responsive service and must be booked at least 24hrs in advance (please note booking service only open Mon - Fri so weekends must be booked in advance) by calling 01643 709701. Discounts for group bookings of 6 or more. Dogs and bikes can be carried for a small additional charge, and the service can also be used to transfer luggage whilst you walk! Walking, Cycling and Riding
If you want to travel sustainably then public transport isn’t the only option. With a wide variety of public footpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes Exmoor is ideally suited for walking, cycling and horse riding. For further information visit the things to do section.
Road Travel
If travelling by car or other private vehicle take care on moorland roads which can be narrow and steep in places. Keep an eye out for wildlife and other road users.
