This post provides a ‘first contact’ point for public enquiries relating to the acceptability of development proposals, and offers guidance and advice to the public and agents in person, both in the office and on site, and by letter/telephone/email. The post holder will process planning, listed building, householder, and other applications of a straightforward nature, inputting information into the computer system accurately and within statutory timescales. They will also contribute to other work of the Development Management Team such as Enforcement. The post holder will occasionally be required to draft reports for consideration by the Authority Committee. The role also supports the Forward Planning team in carrying out a range of tasks related to the Local Plan and planning policy. If you have a degree level qualification in Town and Country Planning and are working towards MRTPI, have experience of planning systems and legislation, and possess excellent written and communication skills, then please download our recruitment pack to find out about this role and the skills, knowledge and experience required.
