An archaeological walk on The Chains

Date: 24th Jul 2019 12:00pm-4:00pm
A walk of around 5 miles for approximately 4 hours on the open moor to include Chains Barrow and Long Chains Combe, discussing our past environment and archaeology and visiting a prehistoric stone setting and ruined 19th century sheepfold and cottage along the way. Rough and probably wet ground, but paced to appreciate sites and landscape. Bring personal lunch and drink and suitable boots and clothing for exposed weather conditions.
