Lorna Doone Walk

DSC_9879-8.jpg

Date: 13th Aug 2019 10:30am-2:30pm
A circular walk following in the footsteps of R.D.Blackmore as we recreate the story of Lorna Doone. We find the waterslide where the intrepid John Ridd climbed up to first meet the beautiful Lorna, and then walk out onto the moor to see the remains of the medieval village that is thought to be the last stronghold of the notorious outlaws, the vagabond Doones. Please bring a packed lunch (or we can provide a picnic) to have before we follow the river back to visit the church where poor Lorna was shot on her wedding day.
