Plants of the Moors and Mires for Beginners - Part Two: Grasses, Rushes and Sedges

Date: 4th Jun 2019 10:00am-3:00pm
Join the Exmoor Mires Partnership for a session building on the botanical ID skills learnt in Part One (28/05/2019). This time we will focus on getting to grips with the basics of what are often considered some of the more ‘difficult’ plants: grasses, rushes, and sedges. Learn how to tell the groups apart, the important features of each, and how to identify a few of the more frequently encountered species. A session aimed at building confidence in those with little or no previous experience of botanical identification. A day split between the classroom at the Pinkery Centre and the mires nearby. Bring outdoor clothing and a packed lunch.
