FUN Project

What is the FUN Project? It aims to:

  • Inspire and connect communities of families to come together and enjoy being outdoors in nature and to create a sense of belonging to place.
  • Helping and supporting families to learn and play with their children - using their own local natural environment and Exmoor National Park as places for improving health and wellbeing and making memorable experiences together

What will be doing?

Activities can be shaped by families. But here are some of the things we will be doing:

  • Introduction/Taster Day
  • Family Adventure Day – opportunities to undertake a range of activities based at one location within the National Park (eg. den building, making dormouse/bat boxes, nature crafts and games
  • Family Discovery Day – Exploring wildlife and habitats of Exmoor National Park
  • On Your Doorstep activity session - accessing nature and the outdoors on your doorstep
  • Training Workshop! – FUN session to look at what you need to think about and plan to organise your own family group activities outdoors
  • June 2020 Big Family Campout celebration event – a two-day one night experience including Dark Sky Explorers and Nocturnal Nature

Events on Exmoor - Support to attend Exmoor National Park Dark Skies Festival (October) and Naturally Healthy Month (May)
