Rural Worker
A Rural Worker and Succession Farm Dwellings Guidance Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been produced to assist those who are seeking to provide a rural worker or succession farm dwelling for their business. Its purpose is to provide guidance on the practical aspects of making a planning application for new homes for those working in land-based businesses. It provides detailed guidance on Adopted Local Plan policies HC-D9 on Rural Workers and HC-D10 Succession Farm Second Dwellings on Established Farms in the adopted Exmoor National Park Local Plan 2011-2031. The SPD intends to support those in land management to continue their valued work in conserving and enhancing Exmoor National Park.
The SPD was approved for adoption by Exmoor National Park Authority on 4 February 2020.
Adoption followed formal consultation on the draft SPD between 7 May and 31 July 2019.
The representations received were considered and changes made to the draft supplementary document. The representation statement sets out the preparation of the SPD, the main issues brought forward during consultation, and how representations were taken into account.
