Horse Riding

Exmoor National Park has over 300 miles of bridleways to offer riders of all abilities. In fact, over 60% of our public rights of way network have bridleway or higher rights, as well as significant permissive access. Explore the 267 square miles of stunning landscape on the quiet and open network of bridleways, and enjoy some of the best riding in the country. Take a look at our 'Out and About Essentials' for more information on accessing the countryside.

One great aspect of discovering Exmoor on horseback is the mixture of landscape and terrain available. Experience wide open moorland, inviting woodland tracks, as well as farmland fields and country lanes. Coming across livestock is a regular occurrence. The current OS Explorer map is another useful tool to discovering some of the best bridleways on offer.
