Wildfire on Exmoor

We recognise heightened concerns around the high fire risk currently.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue are the main lead for wildfire risk management on Exmoor, fighting fires and in related communications, but we work closely with them to support teams in any way we can in terms of wildfire planning, advice, training, equipment, information and practical assistance.

Much of this work happens behind the scenes, but we may be able to do more to help land managers with simple equipment, fire risk reduction plans, signage or other support, so if you think we can help in any way please do get in touch info@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk

We are also working with businesses and tourism providers on preventive messaging and encouraging responsible behaviour to help protect the National Park during this period of heightened risk.
