Porlock Boardwalk to be constructed thanks to CareMoor donation
The Best of Exmoor help build boardwalk
Our huge thanks to The Best of Exmoor for their very kind CareMoor for Exmoor donation to help us build a new boardwalk on the western end of Porlock Marsh, with match funding from the South West Coast Path Association. It will be of huge benefit to locals and visitors alike.
Flooding over the past five years has affected this section of the South West Coast Path/King Charles III England Coast Path, and the new boardwalk will improve access for walkers on both long distance and short circular walks between Porlock Weir and Porlock. The boardwalk will be made from hardwood harvested from conservation management of our own woodland, milled locally at our depot in Exford. The boardwalk will mimic the surrounding landscape with a soft curve and improve access for years to come.
The designs and map below give an indication what the boardwalk will look like when complete.
