Exmoor National Park Authority Launches Good Tourism Plan
Launch of the Good Tourism Plan, a forward-thinking initiative designed to foster sustainable, responsible and quality tourism across Exmoor
The plan was officially unveiled at the Exmoor Rural Enterprise Business Networking Day 2025, bringing together local businesses, community leaders, and tourism providers to collaborate on shaping the future of tourism in Exmoor. The Good Tourism Plan sets out a clear vision for tourism that benefits not only visitors and businesses but the communities and landscapes of Exmoor too. By promoting best practices and encouraging responsible tourism, the plan aims to ensure that Exmoor remains a cherished destination for generations to come. While facilitated by ENPA, the plan has been developed through the Exmoor Tourism Network including Visit Exmoor, local tourism associations and other stakeholders.
Dan James Enterprise and Communications Manager for ENPA said:
“Comprising two thirds of Exmoor’s economy, we know that tourism and hospitality are vital to this area - providing jobs, opportunities for innovation and a boost to local services. However, our plan also sets out clear principles and practical actions to promote responsible tourism - encouraging visitors to tread lightly and contribute positively to the places they enjoy. The key objectives of the Good Tourism Plan are about supporting tourism that is regenerative, productive and resilient. We invite all tourism providers, local businesses, and community members to engage and get involved. By working together, the region can build a resilient tourism economy that supports livelihoods, protects the environment, and delivers outstanding experiences for all.”
