National Park Celestial Celebration is biggest yet!

Over 70 stargazing events, science activities, storytelling and outdoor adventures at this year's Exmoor Dark Skies Festival

Exmoor National Park Authority is delighted to announce the launch of the programme for the ever-popular Exmoor Dark Skies Festival

Running from Friday 17 October to Sunday 2 November 2025. Sponsored by BMW Vertu, Bridgwater, this annual celebration of Exmoor’s internationally recognised dark skies promises a packed programme of over 70 stargazing events, science activities, storytelling and outdoor adventures.

Julie Colman, Rural Enterprise Coordinator for Exmoor National Park Authority, who is organising the festival said:

"The festival continues to grow in popularity, drawing families, amateur astronomers, and nature lovers from across the UK. Festival Highlights include Dark Skies Yoga, Planetarium Experiences, Family Stargazing & Wildlife Walks, Astronomy Suppers & Talks and Campfire Stargazing. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or a curious newcomer, there's something for everyone. I’d really encourage people to book ahead to avoid disappointment, as in previous years many of the events have sold out.”

Dan James, Enterprise and Communications Manager at Exmoor National Park Authority added: "Events will be hosted across the National Park, with collaboration from local businesses, astronomers, and ecologists. Now in its ninth year, the festival offers not only a rare chance to experience the night sky in its full glory and enjoy a huge range of activities, but also it’s great for local businesses to make the most of the opportunities afforded by Exmoor's International Dark Sky Reserve."

BMW Vertu, Bridgwater said: “We are excited to work alongside Exmoor National Park on this wonderful event, giving a large number of our customers the chance to enjoy something truly special.”

The full event listing and downloadable programme is available now from our Exmoor National Park centres and to download from our website. Booking early is advised and visitors are encouraged to explore Dark Sky Friendly accommodation and hospitality offerings to make the most of their visit.
