‘Pay with Exmoor Care’ scheme to reward ‘good tourism’ in Exmoor National Park
All those who enjoy Exmoor will be invited to turn simple, positive actions into rewards this summer, as Exmoor National Park Authority (ENPA) pilots a new ‘‘Pay with Exmoor Care’’ scheme across its National Park Centres.

Running until 30 September 2026, the pilot will offer people 20% off purchases at Exmoor National Park Centres when they complete a small action that helps care for the National Park. Eligible actions include picking up litter, travelling by public transport, recording wildlife, and sharing positive messages about caring for the National Park on social media. People taking part simply choose an action to complete, show evidence of it, and redeem the reward at National Park Centres in Dulverton, Dunster or Lynmouth.
The idea is simple: do a little good for Exmoor and enjoy a thank-you in return. The scheme brings to life the ambitions of Exmoor’s Good Tourism Plan, supporting tourism that is regenerative, productive and resilient, ensuring that visitors, businesses, communities and landscapes all benefit.
ENPA hopes the scheme will encourage more people to take positive action while, increase awareness of responsible and regenerative tourism, and support footfall and spend in National Park Centres during the busy summer season.
Dan James Enterprise and Communications Manager for ENPA said:
“‘Pay with Exmoor Care’ is a simple but powerful idea - rewarding small positive actions with real benefits. These simple actions positively contribute to Exmoor’s natural environment and communities, they help turn care into a visible, shared currency that benefits visitors, businesses and the landscape alike. Plus, with current cost of living challenges it may also provide a little helping hand. The pilot will help shape future plans, with the potential for the scheme to expand in 2027 to involve other providers, organisations and businesses.”

The idea has been inspired by the successful CopenPay scheme initiated in Copenhagen and is believed to be the first of its kind in a UK National Park, and is supported by Celestron who are offsetting the discount applied to their binoculars and telescopes sold in the Centres.
