Rural Enterprise Exmoor Networking Day 2025

Celebrating Collaboration and Innovation on Exmoor

Over 80 business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders gathered at Dunster Tithe Barn last week for the annual Rural Enterprise Exmoor (REE) Networking Day, an event dedicated to fostering collaboration, sharing ideas, and strengthening the business community across Exmoor.

Each autumn, the REE Networking Day brings together a diverse mix of Exmoor businesses, organisations, and individuals. The event provides a unique platform for knowledge exchange and inspiration, helping attendees discover new opportunities in support of their businesses and the landscapes of Exmoor and build lasting connections.

The event featured a dynamic program of speakers and presentations. Highlights included case studies from local businesses such as Good Vibe Veg and Best of Exmoor, inspirational speakers like Harry Singer, CEO of Singer Instruments and Chair of Somerset Growth Board, Emma Thomasson, Director of Visit Exmoor and Katherine Williams - Exmoor Hill Farming Network, plus opportunities to discuss challenges and solutions for the sector.

Dan James, Enterprise and Communications Manager from Exmoor National Park Authority (ENPA) introduced the event saying: “The day is about more than just information sharing. It’s about connecting as a community, inspiring one another, and equipping ourselves to face the unique challenges and opportunities of doing business on Exmoor.”

During the day Exmoor’s new ‘Good Tourism Plan’ was launched - a shared plan developed collaboratively with partners across the sector to encourage everyone to enjoy and benefit from Exmoor, while contributing to the wellbeing of the communities and landscapes within.

Reflecting on the day Dan said: “It was great to see and speak with so many Exmoor Local businesses and we hope everyone found it useful and inspiring. We were really encouraged by the positivity in the room and some of the feedback we’ve had following the event. It was wonderful as well to hear so many stories showcasing the resilience, creativity and passion that define Exmoor’s business community. Our thanks also for the generous support of the Heart of the South West Growth Hub.”

Businesses, organisations, and individuals interested in supporting the vision to grow Exmoor’s economy in harmony with the environment are encouraged to visit www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk/ rural-enterprise (or search ‘Rural Enterprise Exmoor) for help, support and access to business toolkits and to sign up for e-newsletters.  You can also access copies of the presentation materials shared and a summary video of the event through the link.
