Play an important role in carrying out the Exmoor National Park Local Plan review which helps protect Exmoor’s spectacular natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage
Exmoor National Park Authority is looking for a positive and proactive Senior Local Plan Officer to work with the Policy and Community Manager on the Local Plan preparation and review within statutory timescales. This is a key piece of work that enables us to deliver our vision for Exmoor as a beautiful, welcoming and well-managed National Park.
You will research and analyse relevant data, provide technical advice on planning policy, liaise and consult with Authority staff and Members, as well as with our local communities. You will need excellent organisational skills and have attention to detail and be able to confidently communicate to a range of audiences.
In return, you will join a friendly and committed organisation working in one of the UK’s most special landscapes. We offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, flexible working arrangements where the role allows, and a supportive working environment where staff wellbeing and development are valued.
If you are motivated by helping to care for Exmoor’s landscape and heritage, leading the response to climate change and nature recovery, and providing a welcoming place for all, as well as a great place to live, work and do business, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Interviews are planned for 14 October 2026.
