Horse Riding - Christmas Tinsel Rides
Come and join us this December for a festive and scenic ride around Wistlandpound Reservoir.
There’s no better way to get into the Christmas spirit this December than tinsel, festive cheer, mince pies, and horse-riding through the countryside.
Wistlandpound Reservoir, near Blackmoor Gate in North Devon, is the perfect setting with its rugged scenery and fresh air. This is a chance to embrace the elements and be an adventurer, because horse-riding in nature is always a rejuvenating and thrilling experience, whatever the weather.

A chance to meet and greet the horses, ponies and donkeys living at Calvert Devon before mounting and getting to know your steed
1-hour ride from the stables to Wistlandpound Reservoir, following the winding paths along the water’s edge and through the pine trees

Art For All Paint A Winter Wood Illustration
A beginners step by step illustration class. you will be shown how to create a small, detailed watercolour and ink illustration of a winter wood using a variety of techniques, in a relaxing, friendly & peaceful environment. Tuition & support by Artist Leigh, from Roots & Feathers. Beginners level but all levels are welcome. All materials & refreshments included. Please bring sturdy footwear & outdoor clothing.

Christmas Flower Resin & Candle Workshop
Join us in this festive workshop to learn how to craft a beautiful Christmas decoration featuring a resin mistletoe and holly and a rolled beeswax candle!
You will be guided through the process to create your own dipped resin mistletoe and holly arrangement, using wire, florists tape and resin. Then, you will have a go at making your own rolled beeswax candle to add the finishing touches to your festive decoration. All materials are provided and at the end of the session you will have crafted a lovely festive piece to take home with you.

The per-person price for this break between the advertised dates is £315.
This price is all-inclusive of accommodation, all meals and activities as outlined above.
Larger groups of 16 or more people wanting a more tailored schedule will receive a personalised per-person quote to match your unique requirements.

We aim to keep our prices as low as possible, with further funding available to support eligible individuals.
We can offer up to 30% off the total tariff cost depending on the application.

Christmas Wreath Workshop
Join us at Quince Honey Farm and learn how to craft your very own natural and rustic Christmas Wreath to take home with you.
Led by our Head Gardener Rebecca Flay, the workshop will use seasonal fresh foliage collected from the Nectar Gardens and grounds of Quince Honey Farm as well as natural and reusable decorations. You will learn the key techniques to make a beautiful wreath that stands out from the crowd and the tricks for how to keep it fresh until Christmas!
A warm welcome awaits you with a glass of Buzz Fizz to get you into the festive spirit on arrival, followed by a well-deserved mince pie and a hot drink while you are busy at your craft.

Dulverton by Starlight
Dulverton by Starlight is a magical event held every year on the first Sunday of December, open to all free of charge. Every December the pretty Exmoor town of Dulverton is decorated with Christmas trees festooned with lights, and for one Sunday many of the shops are open for people to do some local Christmas shopping. Festivities take place all afternoon and into the evening, including street entertainers, live music, festive stalls and a fabulous fireworks display to conclude the evening! Don’t miss this traditional, festive occasion – marking the beginning of Christmas every year in Dulverton, Exmoor.

Admission to Dunster Castle & Gardens is not included in this ticket. If you are not a National Trust member, you will need to purchase an admission ticket for each adult & child in Visitor Reception when you arrive-admission tickets cannot be booked in advance, and must be purchased on the day. National Trust members and Children under 5 go free.
Please note that pricing for the Father Christmas Experience is £10 per child and time slots are exclusive to the booker. Up to 4 accompanying adults can attend per time slot.
Please arrive at Visitor Reception 20 minutes before your slot. Allow 10 minutes to walk between Visitor Reception and Father Christmas' Grotto inside the castle.

Christmas Break
Enjoy a traditional Christmas in the medieval village of Dunster.
The Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster, based within Exmoor National Park is hosting a Christmas break on a full board basis, including a traditional Christmas lunch and gala dinners.
Also during the break there is a programme of quizzes and activities, or simply relax and enjoy a stroll around the medieval village and see the shops windows decorated for Christmas, or take a longer walk on any of the well waymarked footpaths leading from the village.
