Horse Riding - Christmas Tinsel Rides
Come and join us this December for a festive and scenic ride around Wistlandpound Reservoir.
There’s no better way to get into the Christmas spirit this December than tinsel, festive cheer, mince pies, and horse-riding through the countryside.
Wistlandpound Reservoir, near Blackmoor Gate in North Devon, is the perfect setting with its rugged scenery and fresh air. This is a chance to embrace the elements and be an adventurer, because horse-riding in nature is always a rejuvenating and thrilling experience, whatever the weather.
What’s included?
A chance to meet and greet the horses, ponies and donkeys living at Calvert Devon before mounting and getting to know your steed
1-hour ride from the stables to Wistlandpound Reservoir, following the winding paths along the water’s edge and through the pine trees

New Year Jazz House Party
The Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster, based within Exmoor National Park, is hosting a 3 night break over the New Year with fantastic entertainment each evening after dinner from the Riviera Ramblers.
Our jazz breaks with John are a well established feature with Yarn Market Hotel guests and jazz aficionados from all over the UK and beyond.
The South Devon band comprises six excellent musicians steeped in the nostalgic sounds of classic jazz and swing, and with 2 guitars, adds an additional “gypsy jazz” flavour, with echoes of New Orleans, Harlem and Paris.
