Young Musicians Performance - Ginevra Dobson soprano
As part of the Yarn Market Hotel's Aspiring Young Musicians series, we welcome back young soprano Ginevra Dobson for a performance on the theme of "Music through time" starting at 4.30 pm. The cost to attend the performance is £15.00 which includes a champagne welcome reception.
Lunch before or dinner after can be added, for which the extra cost is £20.00 for 2 courses.

Willow bird feeder workshop
In time for the bird nesting season, weave your garden birds a beautiful and sustainably built feeder in this 3 hour workshop. You will learn the basic skills and techniques of working with willow to create a wonderful willow bird feeder which can be hung in your garden.
Willow weaving uses natural and environmentally-friendly materials, and in this workshop we will use willow harvested from the grounds at Quince Honey Farm. You will find yourself immersed in the wonderful world of willow weaving and finish with a beautiful bird house feeder to take home with you. Enjoy a hot drink and a slice of homemade cake for all your efforts, too!
This could be a perfect gift for someone special, or perhaps for your very own love bird just before Valentines Day.

Stargazing at the Valley of Rocks, Lynton
An unforgettable stargazing with telescopes experience in the beautiful Valley of Rocks.
Join your hosts, Liz & Gary to learn how to navigate the constellations and planets, using just the naked eye, binoculars and the Stellarium app. Spot deeper space objects such as nebulae, Andromeda galaxy and Saturn (autumn & winter) / Jupiter (winter) with our selection of Dobsonian telescopes.
Dress with many warm layers, thick socks and walking boots. We stand on the grass area for up to 2 hours. Bring a hot flask, hat, gloves and a headtorch. We try to limit the use of head torches. Dogs on leads and must be cleared up after.

Flower resin workshop
In this fun and friendly workshop you will be guided through the process to create your own dipped resin flowers, using wire, florists tape and resin. These monthly classes are part of a series of flower resin workshops throughout the year, with the resin flower corresponding with the flower that you would naturally find in bloom in that month! The classes are suitable for beginners, you do not need to have attended a class before to attend any of the below dates nor do you need to sign up to all of them – you can “dip” in and out (excuse the pun!).

Weekly Nature Walks at Quince Honey Farm
Join us weekly on Friday mornings at 10:15am for a relaxed nature walk around the grounds of Quince Honey Farm.
Our friendly staff will lead a stroll around our wildlife gardens and meadow trail, taking in the fresh air, birdsong, and signs of wildlife. Explore with us the Nectar Gardens, our haven for pollinators, the Meadow Trail with its array of wonderful art sculptures, and our lovely Kitchen Garden.
A chance to meet new people, let nature rejuvenate you and start your day in a refreshing and uplifting way!
Well behaved dogs are welcome on leads. The walk will last approximately 45 minutes, but you are welcome to continue exploring afterwards!
Starts on Friday 9th January 2026, at 10:15am – 11am, term time only. On arrival, please let the shop know that you are here for the Nature Walk and they will direct you to the meeting point. This is a free wellbeing walk. A donation towards our Nectar Gardens would be appreciated.

Folk Dance and Snowdrop Weekend
The Yarn Market Hotel has a 2 night / 3 day folk dance workshop break, with a programme of activities during the weekend including a trip out to Exmoor’s secret Snowdrop Valley and to take a walk through lovely woodland to view the flowers.
The break is on a full board basis including Sunday lunch. The dance will take place on Saturday evening at Willand’s wonderful village hall, with MC Bridget Flett and live music from the Fresh Aire band. Transport to and from the dance venue is included.

Wildlife Walks at Quince Honey Farm
Join us for a wildlife walk with your children around the gardens and grounds of Quince Honey Farm! This is a family friendly walk, designed with little ones in mind, to discover the delights of nature and the great outdoors.
Our friendly Education Team will lead this activity, that will explore the nature and wildlife found around Quince Honey Farm. Your little ones will be encouraged to look, learn and spot the signs of wildlife that are all around us. Children must be accompanied by parents/guardians.

Stargazing Curry Supper at Barton Farm
Join the team at Barton Farm in Kentisbury for another popular astronomy experience. This evening experience will allow you to discover the night skies using telescopes while tucking into a 2-course homemade meal.
**What to expect:**
- Tuck into a generous bowl of homemade curry (mild chicken curry, vegetarian or vegan upon request), served a side of roast potatoes and a plain naan bread each
- Step outside to our collection of telescopes to spot Saturn's rings and Orion's nebula.
- Learn to spot Andromeda with the naked eye and a pair of binoculars
- Follow the constellation patterns with our laser pointer (Warning of bright light)
- Learn how to use the free Stellarium app
- Enjoy a slice of homemade fudgy chocolate brownie, enjoyed with a cup or tea, coffee or hot chocolate
- Take home a FREE dark skies pocket guide
On a cloudy or rainy night you'll be able to enjoy an indoor presentation under the canopy of our candlelit 16th century barn, including an Exmoor Dark Skies trail film and NASA imagery.

Choral Singing Weekend in Dunster
Based in the medieval village of Dunster, the Yarn Market Hotel has a 2 night 3 day choral singing break “By Footpath and Stile” – a celebration of the countryside in song.–The tutor for the break is Robyn Sevastos who has led the choir at our annual Music Holiday Week for many years. Choral Concert in Dunster Tithe Barn
The choir from the Yarn Market Hotel’s choral singing weekend will be performing in Dunster’s historic Tithe Barn at 2.30 pm. The theme is “By Footpath and Stile” – a celebration of the countryside in song. The choir is led by Robyn Sevastos, BMus, ARCM. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. There will be refreshments after the performance and a retiring collection in aid of a local charity

Candle making workshop
Come along to a fun and interactive class that is designed to introduce you to the wonderful world of beeswax!
The workshop includes 3 craft activities using beeswax which is made by our very own honeybees at Quince Honey Farm. A member of our Education Team will guide you through a range of techniques in order to craft 3 types of candles and a beeswax wrap. You’ll learn about our honeybees too, how and why they make beeswax and the weird and wonderful things that we use it for. Our friendly instructor will be there every step of the way to guide you and make sure you have a wonderful crafting experience. Ticket price: £40 per person (includes a hot drink and slice of cake)
