Exmoor Villages and Churches break

The Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster, based within Exmoor National Park, hosts a 4 night break on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast basis with lunch on Friday, to visit lovely Exmoor villages and the wonderful churches of West Somerset and Exmoor.. You will be taken out each day in our hotel transport to visit the various locations with a guide. Inclusive charge £575.00 per person.

Willow Heart Workshop

Celebrate Mothers Day this year by treating her to a fun and creative experience!
In this friendly workshop you will discover the art of willow weaving, learning the basic skills and techniques to craft a lovely decorative willow heart to decorate your garden or home with. Willow weaving uses natural and environmentally-friendly materials, and in this workshop we will use a variety of coloured willows harvested from the grounds at Quince Honey Farm.
You will find yourself immersed in the wonderful world of willow weaving and finish with a lovely willow heart to take home and hang up on the wall, in the garden, or (if you can bear to part with it) give it as a gift to someone special.  You are welcome to bring string or ribbon if you would like to decorate your willow heart further, the hearts will measure approx. 15 cm in length.

Flower resin workshop

In this fun and friendly workshop you will be guided through the process to create your own dipped resin flowers, using wire, florists tape and resin. These monthly classes are part of a series of flower resin workshops throughout the year, with the resin flower corresponding with the flower that you would naturally find in bloom in that month! The classes are suitable for beginners, you do not need to have attended a class before to attend any of the below dates nor do you need to sign up to all of them – you can “dip” in and out (excuse the pun!).

Wild Folk with Tamsin Abbott & Jackie Morris

Join Tamsin Abbott and Jackie Morris at Seven Fables on the Spring Equinox to celebrate the re-birth of Wild Folk - Tales from the Stones.
Following its initial publication last Summer, Wild Folk has been rescued from being transformed into a 'book of myth' and is to be re-published by Chelsea Green ensuring its future.
Tamsin and Jackie will be 'in the kitchen' to welcome guests who wish to know a little more about their artistic collaboration, and collectors of Tamsin's stained glass will be delighted to know she is to create a small collection of new work to mark the occasion.
Limited edition prints will be available to purchase throughout the morning alongside copies of Wild Folk, which Tamsin and Jackie will happily sign and dedicate.

Candle making workshop

Come along to a fun and interactive class that is designed to introduce you to the wonderful world of beeswax!
The workshop includes 3 craft activities using beeswax which is made by our very own honeybees at Quince Honey Farm. A member of our Education Team will guide you through a range of techniques in order to craft 3 types of candles and a beeswax wrap. You’ll learn about our honeybees too, how and why they make beeswax and the weird and wonderful things that we use it for. Our friendly instructor will be there every step of the way to guide you and make sure you have a wonderful crafting experience. Ticket price: £40 per person (includes a hot drink and slice of cake)

Walk Exmoor Weekend - Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail

This is an exciting walking weekend offering routes suitable to walkers of all abilities, from long-distance enthusiasts to families and day-visitors. The routes will follow the Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail, which links nine churches and chapels, many remote and scattered across the glorious countryside of Exmoor. It is an ideal opportunity to experience early spring in a wild and untouched landscape.
There are five walks on offer at three levels: the 29 mile complete Trail (challenging), two 15 mile half-circuits, east and west, making up the complete Pilgrim’s Trail (each moderate/ demanding) and two shorter circular walks. The 8 mile walk visits Lynch Chapel of Ease and Selworthy Church and the 7 mile walk visits Porlock Weir's Tin Tabernacle and Culbone Church (both easy).
The cost of the weekend is £15 per person – to include all walks and a complimentary copy of the Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail guidebook which can be stamped at each of the historic churches and chapels as a memento of the adventure.

Two Moors Way - A 50th Anniversary Walk

Lynmouth Car Park (Pay & Display), off Countisbury Hill EX35 6EP

An 11 mile walk visiting the Valley of Rocks, Six Acre Cross, New Mill, Manor Farm, Sparhanger Cross, Cheriton, then then returning to Lynmouth using the Two Moors Way, Smallcombe Bridge, Hillsford Bridge, Myrtleberry Cleave and Lyn Cleave. The walk is strenuous in places with some steep ascents and descents.

Chargot Woods Walk

A one hour stroll to look at Langham engine house, then a 2 hour walk down the steep miners' track to see Bearland Flue and other features connected with iron mining in the Brendons. Hike and Sauna

Meet mountain leaders Nick and Unity for a guided hike with of around 2 hours along old drovers ways, across fields and into hidden ancient wooded valleys. We will have time to breathe, to watch and observe Spring unfurling, embrace the sights and sounds of the awakening moor. On the way we will pause for lunch and a drink before returning to East Liscombe Farm.

Here the sauna awaits, to ease tired muscles and melt away tensions. A plunge bath or cold shower is available to cool off between sauna steamings, but there is also a natural jacuzzi stream a few metres away. For those wishing to add this deeper immersive experience, guidance and support can be given to breathe through the exhilarating chill of the natural waters. Hot teas and water available.
