Galactic Atoms to Golden Ammonites - An inspiring talk by Grant Sherman MSc
Hidden in the black shales of Lyme Regis are ammonite fossils made of Iron Pyrite. How did these fossils form? Where did the iron and sulphur in them and in our planet come from? These questions and many more will be answered in this journey from the heart of stars to the coasts of the south-west. Grant Sherman has degrees in Astrophysics from Cardiff University and Ecology from Warwick University. He spent 13 years living on Lundy studying the seabirds and giving talks and walks on wildlife, history, geology and astronomy. This is a talk organised by the Exmoor Friends. Non-members are welcome and entry is free for the first visit as an introductory offer.
