A Living Landscape: New Beginnings at Kipscombe

Exhibition at Exmoor National Park Centre, Lynmouth1st September – 31st October 2026High up on Exmoor’s dramatic sea cliffs sits Kipscombe, an 880 acre landscape with a rich history over thousands of years. As it enters a new chapter, cared for by the National Trust, our exhibition looks at this special place and the people who have helped bring it back to life for nature and community. Dark Skies Hedgehog Craft Session

As the nights draw in and the days get shorter, join our team at the Exmoor National Park Centre in Dunster for a fun-filled half-term event inspired by hedgehogs! Children can enjoy: Hedgehog-themed arts and crafts,  hedgehog quiz trail and a delightful story about Bertie the hedgehog, who finds himself with a prickly problem! Perfect for primary-aged children (4–11 years).  £2 per child, parent/carer must stay throughout the session. Two sessions available 10.30am - midday & 1.30pm - 3pm. Hunters Moon Guided Walk with Unity Speakman

Heddon Valley
As part of the Exmoor Dark Skies Festival, join Unity Speakman for a special evening walk through Heddon Valley. Watch the sunset and experience the Full Hunter’s Moon rising over Exmoor.
Meet at 3:45pm, set off at 4pm, with moonrise at 4:42pm. We’ll head out into the valley to find the perfect spot to watch the sunset and the moon rise, before returning to The Hunters Inn around 6pm for a warming bowl of soup and a roll.
£20 per person | Maximum 16 people | Ages 10+
A magical evening of walking, sunset, moonlight and Exmoor under the stars.
Please note sections of the path are steep and unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility. All participants will be required to complete a medical waiver.
Cancellation Policy
If this event is cancelled by Unity Speakman or The Hunters Inn due to unsafe or unsuitable weather conditions, we will endeavour to give at least 24 hours' notice wherever possible.
In the event of cancellation, you will have the option to transfer your booking to the rescheduled date or receive a full refund.
Please note that cloud cover is not considered a reason for cancellation. While we hope for clear skies to enjoy the Hunter’s Moon, visibility of the moon and stars cannot be guaranteed and the event will still go ahead in cloudy conditions. Genuinely unsafe or severe weather will result in the walk being cancelled and rescheduled.
